Entrepreneurs’ Week in Schools!

Here are the entrepreneurs from the Nord-du-Québec region who gave talks during Entrepreneurs’ Week at School!

Ms. Myriam St-Gelais, owner of MT Subventions in Chibougamau, shared her entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Bon-Pasteur School in Chibougamau.

Mr. François Morin, owner of the Uniprix Duchesne et Morin pharmacy in Chibougamau, shared his entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Vatican II School in Chibougamau.

Mr. Thomassie Mangiok, retired from his company Pirnoma Technologies Inc. in Ivujivik, shared his entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Isummasaqvik School in Quaqtaq.

Mr. Kim Pelletier, owner of Production 49e Parallèle in Chibougamau, shared his entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire School in Chibougamau.

Ms. Marianne Dumas, owner of Marianne Dumas, Artist in Chibougamau, shared her entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Nuvviti School in Ivujivik.

Mr. Jonathan Mattson, co-owner of the Maître Renard Microbrewery in Chibougamau, shared his entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at the Centre d’études collégiales in Chibougamau.

Ms. Alexandra Trottier, owner of Alexandra Trottier Photographe-r in Chibougamau, shared her entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Nuvviti School in Ivujivik.

Mr. Vincent Meilleur, co-owner of Assurances et services Financiers Rochefort & Associés Inc. in Chibougamau, shared his entrepreneurial journey and passion with students at Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire School in Chibougamau.

Ms. Marjorie Ouellet and Mr. Jean-François Croteau, owners of Groupe Optimirh in Chapais, shared their entrepreneurial journey and passions with students at the Centre d’études collégiales in Chibougamau.

Entrepreneurs Week at School begins across Quebec
Several inspiring talks for youth in Nord-du-Québec

Chibougamau, November 11, 2024 – Starting today and continuing until November 22, thousands of students from elementary school to university across Quebec’s 17 regions will take part in Entrepreneurs’ Week at School. The program features a wide range of talks, generously given by hundreds of entrepreneurs, to celebrate the human adventure of entrepreneurship as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

In the Nord-du-Québec region, more than 160 young people will meet an entrepreneur from their community who will share their journey, values, and motivations for starting a business… enough to inspire them to carry out projects in the classroom or on campus!

A few talks in the region

  • Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire School in Chibougamau will welcome Mr. Kim Pelletier, owner of Production 49e Parallèle in Chibougamau, and Mr. Vincent Meilleur, co-owner of Assurances et services financiers Rochefort et Associés Inc. in Chibougamau.
  • Bon-Pasteur School in Chibougamau will welcome Ms. Myriam St-Gelais, owner of MT Subventions in Chibougamau.
  • Vatican II School in Chibougamau will welcome Mr. François Morin, owner of the Uniprix Duchesne et Morin Pharmacy in Chibougamau.
  • Nuvviti School in Ivujivik will virtually welcome Ms. Marianne Dumas, artist from Chibougamau, and Ms. Alexandra Trottier, owner of Alexandra Trottier Photographe-r in Chibougamau.
  • Isummasaqvik School in Quaqtaq will virtually welcome Mr. Thomassie Mangiok, owner of Pirnoma Technologies Inc. in Ivujivik.
  • The Centre d’études collégiales in Chibougamau will welcome Mr. Jonathan Mattson, co-owner of the Maître Renard Microbrewery in Chibougamau, as well as Ms. Marjorie Ouellet and Mr. Jean-François Croteau, owners of Groupe Optimirh Inc. in Chapais.

OSEntreprendre’s mission is to inspire the desire to undertake in order to help build a proud, innovative, committed, and prosperous Quebec. Since 2017, through Entrepreneurs’ Week at School, it has reached more than 150,000 students from elementary school to university across Quebec, thanks to hundreds of free talks given in schools by entrepreneurs from their communities. Entrepreneurs’ Week at School is an initiative of OSEntreprendre, presented by Desjardins and supported by the Government of Quebec. In the Nord-du-Québec region, the SADC Chibougamau-Chapais is the coordinating organization responsible for the event.
